The highlight of this programme by one of the world’s best known choral ensembles is Fauré’s celebrated Requiem. This glorious piece has some of the most beautiful melodies ever composed. The Choir will also be performing works by Duruflé, Tomkins, Byrd, Bach, Brahms and Bruckner.
With origins dating back nearly 700 years, the choir’s fame expanded internationally in the 20th century with the Christmas Eve Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols broadcast to millions around the world.
Choirmaster and organist Stephen Cleobury has been Director of Music since 1982.
‘I would happily sit in King’s College Chapel listening to this choir sing for the rest of my days’ Richard Morrison, The Times
