Family Festival

On Sunday afternoon June 30th, Proms at St Jude's hosts together with our partner organization and sponsor, DaCapo Music Foundation,

a wonderful afternoon of family fun and family entertainment.

In addition to the musical themed events listed below will be an enticing selection of activities for our younger friends - face painting, arts activities with HGS Art, Ice Cream, Owl Trail featuring North London Hospice's mascot Owlbert, an ecology table and community platform. 

Pizza Pazzo will be selling their wonderful pizzas on the Square during the Family Festival and before the evening concert.

African Drumming Workshops

Central Square

Suitable for ages 5-7 and 7-12; all children must be accompanied by an adult

Using traditional African djembe drums, children create sounds and music from the African continent. Every child immerses themselves in a different culture whilst experiencing a feeling of unity as part of a drum circle. Ticketed but free.

Come and learn about Wind! A variety of musicians will be waiting in tents around the Square, ready to play and talk to the visitors, each offering interactive opportunities to make all sorts of sounds.

Bring your children or grandchildren to Teeny Prom for a fun occasion of singing, percussion, props and laughter. The sessions are led by an experienced teacher and performer and other fantastic musicians.  Places are limited – pre-booking is recommended.

Family Concert

Toscana Strings with dancer Laura Tye present stories told through the music of Prokofiev's symphonic tale for children and Bizet's Carmen

Toscana Strings and ballerina Laura Tye tell two popular stories through dance and music. Hear the original score of Peter and the Wolf  brought to life through dance. Each character of the story will be represented by a different mime. The second half of the concert will take us to Spain. When Ferdinand the Bull is picked to fight in a bull fight in Madrid all he wants to do is smell the flowers. The story is  orchestrated to Bizet’s score of Carmen. There are opportunities for audience participation with some dance sequences throughout!
