The Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II
Armonico Consort
Christopher Monks (conductor), Jennie Bond (narrator)
Narrated by former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond, Armonico Consort's choir and orchestra will revive one of the UK's most monumental days. Programme highlights include Parry I Was Glad, Handel Zadok the Priest, Walton Coronation Te Deum and Vaughan Williams Creed.
To celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Armonico Consort recreates highlights of Queen Elizabeth II's 1953 Coronation Service. Christopher Monks is a versatile and prolific conductor and keyboard player, specialising in music from the Baroque and late Renaissance eras. He is equally at home with modern choral repertoire and has conducted as some of the greatest concert halls in the UK. Broadcaster and journalist Jennie Bond is a regular on our TV screens. As the BBC's Royal Correspondent from 1989 to 2003, she was at the heart of events that made headlines around the world.
