At a party on 2 October to celebrate a successful Silver Jubilee, we handed over a donation of £50,000 to Toynbee Hall and North London Hospice.
“We had such fun in our Silver Jubilee year, but what drives us all is the ethos of raising money for charity," said Richard Clegg, Proms chairman.
Proms has been supporting Toynbee Hall for 18 years and has now given over £650,000 to help deliver innovative youth services.
“What a great way to start my new job at Toynbee Hall!" said Jim Minton, Toynbee's new chief executive. "This donation will enable more young people from schools across East London to build their confidence and change lives for the better. We are grateful for the constant support we have received from Proms at St Jude’s.”
North London Hospice also celebrated 25 years of inpatient care this year and has worked together with Proms since the beginning. Over £200,000 has been raised for the Hospice.
“Without the support of our community and especially longstanding events at the heart of close-knit communities like Proms at St Jude’s, we would not be able to carry out our vital work," said Hospice Chair, John Bryce. "We need to expand to meet the number of people who want hospice care. We couldn’t do this without Proms.”
