In conversation with Marie-Elsa Bragg
For more than 25 years, surgeon David Nott has taken unpaid leave from his job in the NHS to volunteer in some of the world’s most dangerous war zones. He is now widely acknowledged as the world's most experienced trauma expert. He has also helped in the aftermath of earthquakes and other natural disasters. In 2015 he set up a foundation, with his wife Elly, to train local doctors to treat the appalling injuries war inflicts.
