In conversation with Bridget Galton

Brought up in Africa by her Welsh mother and a Sierra Leonean father, she was whisked back to Wales at age eight and found herself in a small inward-looking village – an education in itself.
Fast forward 40-plus years and her cellist son Sheku, first Black performer to win BBC Young Musician of the Year, would be stealing the show at Harry and Meghan’s wedding. He and his six talented siblings – described as ‘Britain’s most musical family’ – have gone on to entrance audiences around the world.
