In conversation with Kavita Puri
Brought up in a Punjabi speaking family, Sathnam won a first in English from Cambridge and went on to write a memoir, The Boy with the Topnot – adapted as a BBC play – and a novel, Marriage Material. He has won many prizes for his work at The Times and The Financial Times.
“Whether he’s writing autobiography or fiction, Sathnam is busy carving out his own literary niche – in the multicultural British Midlands – which he explores with incredible grace, generosity and humour” Jonathan Coe
