Tonight’s performance features Connaught Brass, an exhilarating and virtuosic group of young performers rising in prominence across the UK and Europe, and winners at the 2022 Royal Overseas League Annual Music Competition. The Arts Desk describes them as ‘prepared to explode cliches of what brass chamber music should sound like’. Tonight’s music ranges from the 16th to the 20th centuries − from Gabrieli’s intricate antiphonal Canzonas to Bernstein’s ever popular West Side Story. Connaught Brass musicians have performed with such contrasting artists as The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Jonas Brothers and Stormzy.
