Sir Antonio Pappano is one of our most celebrated and sought-after conductors, acclaimed for his inspirational performances in both symphonic and operatic repertoire. He is currently Chief Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and Director Emeritus of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, having been Music Director of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Sir Antonio has also conducted at the world’s greatest opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the State Operas of Vienna and Berlin and La Scala in Milan. In 2023, he conducted the Coronation Orchestra at the Coronation of King Charles III.


Sir Antonio will be in conversation with Ian Skelly, writer and documentary maker and host of  BBC Radio 3 Essential Classics, Radio 3 Afternoon Concert, BBC Proms and concerts across the UK
