Brothers Jonathan and Tom Scott are keyboard artists who perform their own high-energy arrangements of popular orchestral works. At St Jude’s, Jonathan will play on the magnificent 1899 Father Willis organ, and Tom the Steinway grand piano. Their programme features transcriptions of several blockbusters of the classical tradition including Edvard Grieg Peer Gynt Suite, a piece that Henrik Ibsen asked his friend and compatriot to compose for a production of his verse play. The church acoustic will reverberate to favourites by Mozart, Liszt, Handel and other composers, including Tom Scott himself. The evening ends with the quintessential fusion of jazz and classical music, George Gershwin’s thrilling Rhapsody in Blue.
